In October, 11 New York Tech undergraduate architecture students competed at the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) in Baltimore, Md. The team was awarded with honorable mention for their project, "Threads of Healing," which establishes community land trusts to promote collective ownership and affordable housing for the Black community in West Baltimore. The student competition was themed, "Highway to Healing: The Transformation of the West Baltimore I-40 Corridor," in acknowledgment of the families, homes, and entire neighborhoods that were removed for an incomplete stretch of highway intended to connect downtown Baltimore to other parts of the city.

The student-athletes achieved a 3.2 or better GPA in the spring 2019 semester, and qualified for the university's Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Thirteen student-athletes actually produced perfect 4.0 GPAs: Julia Andor, Kaitlyn Byrnes, Ashley Claud, Diego Espiniella, Madisyn Hausch, Jean Kehyayan, Kylie Lacerte, Veronika Nemcova, Ane Rake, Ruth Rodriguez, Martin Sundell, Pol Zapata and Ann-Kathrin Zilles.

New York Institute of Technology Athletics placed 134 student-athletes on the East Coast Conference (ECC) Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2018-19 academic year. Student-athletes who earned at least a 3.25 GPA for the academic year earned the honor. Additionally, New York Institute of Technology men's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, and Esports teams had the highest GPAs of any team in their respective sports in the ECC for the 2018-19 academic year.

On May 2, students from NYIT School of Health Professions were inducted into The Alpha Eta Honor Society, the national scholastic honor society for allied health students. With the motto "Together We Serve," Alpha Eta promotes and recognizes significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions.

One thousand forty-six New York Institute of Technology students were named to the Fall 2018 Presidential Honor List.
