NYITCOM Students Design High-Tech Nephrology Teaching Tool
Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences Aleksandr Vasilyev, M.D., Ph.D., and NYITCOM students Ivan Bandovic and Dylan Carmichael have developed Nephro360, a new teaching tool that uses virtual reality and gaming technologies to help students study the kidney.

Students Flex Their Mechanical Muscle
At the Make Anything Robot Hackathon held in the Innovation Lab at Wisser Library from September 25-28, students had the opportunity to build and program a robotic arm. The event is part of the 2017-2018 Make Anything Robot Build workshops, which take place every week throughout the year. The initiative was conceived of by Christian Pongratz, M.Arch., professor and interim dean of NYIT School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Education, together with Haddington Dynamics, a research and development company.

Two Students Develop a Winning App Designed to "Pick You Up"
Salman Javid Malik and Vignesh Harish, working with NYIT's Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center, developed an award-winning app, Crater, to help consumers transport large items requiring a pickup truck. Competing against more than 100 teams from colleges and universities across New York State, Crater took third place at the New York State Business Plan Competition.
