New York Tech Offers Discounted Summer Tuition and Summer Academies for Middle and High School Students

Old Westbury, NY (06/25/2020) — Whether you are an ambitious high school student, home from college for the summer, or simply want to enhance your own knowledge base and skills, there is still time to take advantage of New York Institute of Technology's reduced tuition rates for its online summer courses.

New York Tech is also offering engaging technology summer academies for middle and high school students, including a two-week high school Online Engineering Experience beginning July 20 and a free online Middle School Maker Academy which starts on August 3.

Benefits for Visiting and High School Students

Summer is the ideal time for students to get a head start, catch up on courses, fill in knowledge gaps in a specific area, or shorten their timeline to graduation. New York Tech summer courses are open to all admitted, current, and visiting students (including those attending other colleges and qualified high school students). The discounted undergraduate tuition rate is $720 per credit --nearly half the per-credit summer tuition of many local private universities.

Registration is now open for Session II, which begins on July 13.

Course Offerings

Students can enroll in a wide range of foundational (freshman/sophomore-level) and advanced (junior/senior-level) courses. Free Online Maker Academy for Middle Schoolers

Beginning August 3, this online weeklong academy offers 10-13 year olds workshops designed to teach 3D modeling and printing, laser cutting/engraving, and Arduino programming to prepare participants for the final challenge of building a Clean Cargo Allocation Ready Truck (CCART).

Engineering Instruction for High Schoolers

Beginning July 20, this new two-week program will explore 3D modeling and printing, Arduino prototyping, encryption, and PCB design. Instructors will assist students in obtaining all required software and hardware to help them learn about careers in technology, engineering, and computer science while earning two college credits.
